Donel Smith

 

August 26, 2004 - June 14, 2014

 

A Rainbow for Us remembers Donel of Gary, Indiana.  Donel died a "hero" after trying to save his brother, Terrion 8, who had fallen into a neighborhood pond on June 14th. Sadly, both brothers drowned. Donel was 9 years old.

 

The grim fact is we lose a child a day to unintentional drowning, according to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and many families suffer the pain of that loss.     

 

Drowning is PREVENTABLE! Together we can put an end to this trend.
